TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center
The Bancaja Foundation brings Sorolla back to its exhibition space. This time the show features more than 100 drawings by Valencia's most internationally acclaimed painter.
Until 9th January, lovers of painting can enjoy the show, titled Sorolla. Tireless Illustrator, with pieces that reflect some of the prior and ongoing work this Valencian genius did before undertaking his paintings.
‘The first line’; ‘Drawing, family, home’; ‘Great works, great drawings’ and ‘The modern city’ are the four sections into which the show is divided. They highlight the artist’s different creative periods, from his training at the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts to his journeys to such cites as New York and Chicago.
His essential drawings come from the holdings of the Sorolla Museum and private collections.
