Come and learn about the history of one of Christianity’s most famous objects through an interactive display
Did you know that Valencia safeguards one of the most venerated treasures in history?
The Holy Grail is the cup that, according to tradition, Jesus may have used at the Last Supper.
Since then, it traveled from Jerusalem to the Pyrenees, was protected by monks and kings, and finally found its home in Valencia Cathedral, where it has been kept for centuries.
And yes, just a few steps from the cathedral —in the Almudín— you’ll find the Holy Grail Visitor Reception Center.
Its goal is to present the origin, meaning, and journey of this treasure until its arrival in València in an interactive way.
Inside the exhibition
To give you an idea, the tour combines visual and technological resources so that the visit becomes much more than a simple exhibit.
It features:
- Eight informative panels
- Free audioguide in Spanish, Valencian, and English
- Touchscreen with historical documents about the Chalice and its legacy
- Projection showing the most important milestones in its history
- Educational area with audiovisual content
Moreover, the Almudín itself is an essential part of the experience.
This medieval building —which once served as a wheat storehouse— preserves original mural paintings about grain trade and guilds, and is filled with Gothic details that make the visit even more special.
How long can I visit?
The center will remain open throughout the Third Jubilee Year of the Holy Grail —until October 29, 2026—, a celebration granted by Pope Francis I that every five years offers the faithful the chance to obtain plenary indulgence.
One of the most precious jewels of Christianity is waiting for you—are you coming?
