Workshops, experiences and classes to learn how to prepare authentic Valencian paella from top chefs

València is the birthplace of Valencian paella, there is absolutely no doubt about that!

And of course, there is no better way to get to know this dish than learning to cook it yourself and discovering its true ingredients, the tricks, how to get the rice cooked to perfection, which type to use —D.O. València... always!— and how to enjoy that highly coveted socarrat.

Want someone to guide you while you cook the traditional recipe? Take a look at these four experiences to do just that.

#1 Paella Experience with Valencia Club Cocina

With this option, you will start the day at the Algirós Municipal Market to learn about the ingredients firsthand and end it with a freshly made paella, sangria, and D.O. València wines.

The experts from Valencia Club Cocina will guide you through every single step of making our beloved paella, and they will also add Spanish omelette, coca de llanda (traditional sponge cake), and a shot of mistela to the menu.

Let's cook it!

#2 Paella Lovers Course with Food&Fun

A specialized course to learn the traditional Valencian paella recipe from an expert chef. You will learn how to select the best ingredients, master the cooking times, and achieve the perfect socarrat —which is no easy task—.

Once finished, it's time to taste it alongside a sampling of local red wines.

I want to learn the secret!

#3 Paella Full Experience at Villa Indiano

Cooking paella right in the middle of the Valencian orchard, in front of the facade of a restored villa, is an experience that is doubly worth it, don't you think?

Every Thursday, Villa Indiano organizes a group experience —minimum 10 people— where local chefs will teach you the authentic recipe while you enjoy the surroundings.

And of course, once it's ready... you get to try it along with a full menu that also includes starters and dessert!

#4 My First Paella

A paella class in the Ruzafa neighborhood where you will start by exploring its market —one of the most characteristic buildings due to its color gradient— to choose the ingredients, and finish in the kitchen preparing the recipe of your choice.

You can choose between Valencian paella, seafood paella, or vegetarian paella.

Let's taste it!

#5 Rice workshops at El Casal de La Fallera with Valencia Club de Cocina

Valencia Club de Cocina and El Casal de La Fallera have joined forces to help you learn how to get the most out of your rice dishes, whether paella or not.

Did the paella leave you wanting more? This family course is the perfect excuse to come with the little ones and prepare original rice desserts together, such as rice cheesecake and rice tiramisu.

Would you rather eat it without putting on a chef's hat?

You can also enjoy an authentic Valencian paella after a boat trip through the Albufera, surrounded by rice fields, or at one of the best restaurants in València, where this dish has been perfected for centuries.
