The art of Mitoraj is coming to the City of Arts and Sciences

Categories: exhibitions.

From April 7 to October 16, the City of Arts and Sciences will turn into a unique open-air museum.

The lakes of the Hemisfèric, the Palau de les Arts, the Paseo de Cipreses, the Paseo del Arte and the west entrance of the Museu de les Ciències are hosting an exhibit by Igor Mitoraj.

Fifteen large sculptures made of bronze that, strategically fragmented, imbue the Ciutat de les Arts with their "broken beauty", thus setting up a magical encounter between science, nature and art, all in one space.

Through his pieces, inspired by Roman and Greek culture, the Polish sculptor seeks to convey the malaise of contemporary man and his precariousness and fragility, with his work resurrecting the idea that art has a soul of its own.

Discover the new pledge of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Sciències to urban and public art and immerse yourself in the art of Mitoraj while enjoying a pleasant stroll along the former site of the River Turia.
