Come and discover the history of the Torres de Serranos with virtual reality and a tactile model
The Torres de Serranos are one of the most famous monuments in València, no doubt about it, right?
They are beautiful, but not everyone can walk through them because there is no lift. As they are protected as an Asset of Cultural Interest (Bien de Interés Cultural, BIC), the solution cannot be a refurbishment, so you can now get to know them in a different way through the “Més que unes Torres” interpretation centre, set up right opposite, in Plaza de la Crida.
What is “Més que unes Torres”?
It is a temporary, adapted interpretation centre —open until 10 January 2027— where you can discover the history and architecture of the Torres de Serranos in an accessible and immersive way.
The challenge here was to bring heritage closer to people with disabilities without touching the building, and they have certainly achieved it.
The highlight is a virtual reality experience that recreates the interior of the monument and lets you travel back in time to discover its spaces and its history.
There is also a 1:50 scale tactile model so you can explore the towers with your hands, subtitled audiovisual content, audio guides accessible via QR codes and easy-read information panels.
