World Paella Day Restaurant Week

Categories: Gastronomy.

Although any day is a fine time to get together with friends or family and share a delicious paella, September brings a can’t-miss opportunity to enjoy this most Valencian of dishes. The 20th is World Paella Day, but because one day is not enough to celebrate, in Valencia you can take advantage of an entire Restaurant Week, 16th to 26th September.

You will find special set menus at a total of 28 restaurants in the city and surrounding area, offering starters, paella and dessert for 25 euros. Enjoy your rice by the sea at such spots as Brasserie Sorolla, El Coso, Vlue Arribar or La Alegría de la Huerta, or round out a sightseeing tour of the city centre with the set menu at La Cigrona or Palace Fesol, to offer just a few examples. And if you want something more cutting edge, try Kaymus restaurant, awarded 2 Repsol Soles.

Alongside traditional Valencia-style paella, there will be many other rice dishes to choose from: arroz del senyoret (paella with shelled and peeled seafood), arroz a banda (rice cooked in fish stock), arroz negro (rice with squid ink), arroz meloso (creamy rice), rice with duck and boletus mushrooms, and more. Is your mouth watering yet?

Check the list and set menus at participating restaurants on the website www.worldpaelladay.org and book your table today. Bon appétit!
