Delve into Valencia’s past through the brushstrokes of its finest painters.
Do you like art? Tradition? Landscapes?
In that case, you cannot miss the exhibition ’Scenes and Landscapes in Valencian Painting. 9th and 20th centuries’ at the Bancaja Foundation.
The exhibition offers a window into the past of the Valencian Community through 50 painters and over 100 artworks that capture rural life, the sea, festivals and the essence of Valencia, courtesy of masters such as Sorolla, Pinazo, Benlliure and Cecilio Pla.
The exhibition brings together Valencian paintings dating from between 1850 and 1940 that revolutionised traditional art.
You will be treated to scenes of laborious llaures (harvests), the splendour of the Albufera and the figure of the Valencian woman, among many others. And note that this exhibition also includes some photographs of the Battle of Flowers in 1905.
If you want to get even more out of it, you can sign up for one of the guided tours led by art experts.
Plus, your ticket also gets you into all the other exhibitions at the Foundation. Come on, there’s no excuse.
Hurry up and fill your summer with history, art and excitement at the Bancaja Foundation.
