Every Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at the Apostles’ Gate of Valencia Cathedral, experience firsthand one of Valencia’s oldest traditions, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Lights, trees and light arches deck the streets of Valencia this Christmas
Categories: parties and traditions, Christmas.
TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center
Come and enjoy the city at its most Christmassy once the lights have been switched on.
Christmas is already in the air in Valencia!
The city will shine brighter than ever during the festive season this year, with a spectacular light display from 21 November 2025 to 6 January 2026.
You’ll be able to admire 45 trees spread throughout the districts and the surrounding area.
That said, the star of the show will, as always, be the Christmas tree in the Town Hall square. This year’s stands 25 metres tall, and decorated in a completely new way, with stars and a whole host of ornamental motifs.
The surrounding trees will also be adorned with garlands and three-dimensional lights, and the Town Hall will be spectacularly lit up.
Not bad, right?
And it's not just the centre that's going to have that magical Christmas shine. From La Torre to Castellar-l'Oliveral and El Forn d'Alcedo, each neighbourhood will have its very own Christmas tree, Bon Nadal signs and light garlands.
But it's not just about trees!
You'll also be able to enjoy 274 decorative arches scattered throughout the city.
One of the areas with the lightest arches is the stretch from Avda. Peris y Valero to the Turia Garden, and the most innovative light arch is the one in C/ Colón, which will be sporting a new design this year.
What’s more, the city is adding new Christmas lights attractions: a 3D reindeer to stand in front of the Ciudad de las Artes, a bell you can walk into in the Plaza del Patriarca, and a giant light ball right by the Finca Roja.
There’ll be a Nativity Scene with life-size illuminated figures too, which you can see in C/ del Hospital this year, and a huge shining kite on the Serranos Bridge.
In short, Valencia will once again be transformed into a magical setting where you can experience the true spirit of Christmas.
