Come and enjoy films by one of the great modern Japanese directors.
The Valencia Film Library has put together a series in honour of Kiyoshi Kurosawa, one of the most influential Japanese filmmakers of the last three decades.
The series includes several feature-length films, which are perfect for immersing yourself in his cinematic universe, where issues such as loneliness, lack of empathy, violence and the impact of technology on our lives are brought to the fore.

13 January at 8:00 p.m. and 15 January at 6:00 p.m. – “Barren Illusion”
This is one of his most cryptic and surreal creations, portraying a lost youth in a dystopian society marked by violence and isolation.
16 January at 6:00 p.m. and 17 January at 8:15 p.m. – “Wife of a Spy”
An espionage drama set at the dawn of World War II, where a couple faces a state secret that could change everything.
16 January at 8:15 p.m. and 18 January at 6:00 p.m. – “License to Live”
The story of a young man who wakes up after ten years in a coma and must learn to live in a world he no longer recognises.

A dark revenge thriller in which a man, with the help of a mysterious professor, seeks justice after the murder of his daughter.

A portrait of a man who makes a living from online resale as strange events begin to put his life in danger.

A story of revenge in which a man, after killing the murderer and rapist of his daughter, is trapped in an emotional void.
27 January at 8:00 p.m. and 29 January at 6:00 p.m. – “Bright Future”
The chronicle of two marginalised young people united by a strange relationship, marked by loneliness, violence and social disconnection.
