From October 1 to 13, the bel canto director Maurizio Benini is taking to the main hall of Les Arts to direct "Anna Bolena", the famous opera composed by Gaetano Donizetti.
Soprano Eleonora Buratto in the role of Anna Bolena, and bass-baritone Alex Esposito as Henry VIII, star in this lyrical tragedy that tells the story of the second wife of one of the monarchs of the House of Tudor.
This show is a melodrama in which romance and nostalgic omens lure the audience in from the start. In fact, it is one of the first compositions to fully partake of the Italian romantic movement.
It is also part of the "Tudor Trilogy", Donizetti's three operas that revolve around the figure of Elizabeth I of England.
