TOURISTIC AREA: Bioparc and Cabecera park

Bioparc Valencia, a new-generation zoo

Located in the Parque de Cabecera, in the former riverbed of the Turia, Bioparc Valencia is an animal park like no other. Here, animals roam freely across 100,000 square metres of space that recreates different African habitats. Almost invisible barriers make visitors feel part of these ecosystems and closer to their inhabitants.

Elephants, lions, hippopotamuses, lemurs, chimpanzees and many other African species delight visitors of all ages. At the same time, by visiting you contribute to the study and protection of these animals and learn to respect them.

Why visit Bioparc Valencia

Come face to face with more than 6,000 animals from around 150 African species

Enjoy full immersion in four different habitats

Support the conservation of ecosystems and endangered species

Promote respect for animals and the environment

What to see at Bioparc Valencia

You’ll need at least two hours to explore all the habitats, but you’ll probably want to stay much longer to enjoy the animals. Book your ticket in advance to avoid queues and make the most of your time.

✓ African savannah

Zebras, impalas, white rhinoceroses, African elephants, lions, giraffes, ostriches and many other species roam the savannah, the quintessential African landscape.

✓ Equatorial Africa

Primates rule the equatorial rainforest, but in addition to gorillas and chimpanzees, you’ll also find antelopes, bongos and buffaloes, and even the elusive leopards.

✓ African wetlands

In the recreation of the Kitum Cave (Kenya) and its wetlands, you can watch hippos swimming and feel the threatening gaze of crocodiles.

✓ Madagascar

If you’ve seen the film of the same name, you’ll know that this African island is home to up to seven species of lemurs.

✓ Adorable babies

Every year, Bioparc celebrates the birth of new offspring that captivate visitors. Sometimes these are historic milestones, such as the birth of the first white rhinoceros, and the public is often invited to suggest names.

What to do at Bioparc Valencia

If seeing all the animals isn’t enough, there are more experiences you can add to your visit:

✓ The Last Frontier

A new virtual reality experience takes you to the depths of the ocean to discover fascinating marine wildlife.
