“The Gold of San Juan”: A Journey into the Baroque in Valencia
Categories: exhibitions.
Art, history and technology come together in a single show in Valencia.
Immerse yourself in the splendour of the Baroque as you had never imagined with the immersive exhibition “The Gold of San Juan”.
From 11 September to 31 December 2025, the majestic Church of San Juan de la Cruz takes you on a journey back to the 18th century.
How is that possible? With Baroque music, dynamic lighting and videomapping.
Enjoy its impressive bas-reliefs, magnificent paintings and Rococo tilework brought to life through Timelight Scene technology, which uses artificial intelligence to recreate each element without losing sight of its artistic and religious value.
The experience also celebrates the debut of the monumental relief “La Benignidad”, an 18-metre-high work full of symbolism that transforms into a living canvas through special effects.
All this is accompanied by the music of Handel and other great baroque composers.
Exploring this Baroque and Rococo temple—one of the six oldest historic parishes in Valencia—is much more than just a visit: it’s a deep dive into the beauty, history and emotion of our heritage.
Come and enjoy this 21st-century Baroque experience at San Juan de la Cruz!
