Come and explore the evolution of more than a century of home cinema at CaixaForum
From the 17th of July to the 9th of November 2025, CaixaForum will be hosting an exhibition that analyses the evolution of audiovisual technology, from the very first film cameras to today's smartphones.
It also looks at why we film ourselves and highlights the value of home movies, which have captured fragments of everyday life for more than a century, becoming a valuable image bank of great anthropological, sociological and historical importance.
Home movies have even created a new cinematographic language, characterised by technical errors and imperfections.
The exhibition includes unpublished stories and films that offer a window onto both past and contemporary times and customs.
Do you want to reflect on the close relationship we have with cameras and how images influence the construction of reality and memory?
If so, book your ticket and come to the CaixaForum before it's too late!
