Nothing beats pairing the city’s culinary delights with local wines from the València and Utiel-Requena regions. Mistela plays an important part in València’s cultural heritage. The local dessert wine, produced from muscatel grapes, has a clean and bright appearance. València’s queen of healthy and refreshing beverages is horchata. Made from locally grown chufas, it is traditionally combined with fartons (sweet pastry fingers) for the perfect afternoon snack.
Try Agua de València, the city’s namesake cocktail. It's an alcoholic drink made with orange juice, cava, sugar and various liquors. The recipe and the proportions of the different ingredients vary from place to place, and are even a closely guarded secret in some establishments.
