Complaints for foreign tourists service from the national police

Although Valencia is one of the safest cities in the world, it is useful to know how to report a crime or incident in case you do get robbed or lose something while you are on holiday here.

There are three ways to report a crime or incident to the National Police:

1. By phone: 902 102 112

Available in English from 9am to 9pm, Monday to Sunday, and in French, German and Italian, every day from 9am to 3pm.

You can report:

Theft or Burglary

  • From/of a vehicle
  • At home, establishments or offices

Robbery

Of documents and/or effects

  • Of documents and/or effects, if it is compulsory to report them (documents, numbered objects or with a serial number, etc.)
  • Damages
  • Robbery with violence and/or intimidation (if it happens in a public street)

Fraud

  • Bank card fraud
  • Simple fraud, if it is not a highly complex case.

Theft with force in things and theft

  • Of vehicles or inside
  • At home, establishments or offices

Please note:

  1. You cannot report by phone crimes or incidents that require fast police intervention, or crimes that cause physical injury, or in general crimes or incidents that require special consideration at the police station due to their serious or complex nature, or specific circumstances.
  2. After reporting by phone, you will have to go to the National Police station within 48 hours to confirm and sign the report to make it valid. You will be given priority as much as possible.

  4. IMEI numbers or serial numbers of the reported or stolen effects or items.
  5. Medical report if there are injuries.
  6. For card fraud you will need to provide your bank card number, as well as a bank statement that shows the transactions you have reported or a printed online banking statement.
  7. In general, any type of necessary document or detail connected with the crime or incident that has been reported and that may be required for further police investigation.
