Cruise Passenger Guide to Valencia
Whether you are on a layover or starting/ending your cruise in Valencia, here are four essential plans to explore the city at your own pace in four to eight hours. Choose one or combine them as you like!
Discover the Historic Center
Travel two thousand years back in time as you stroll through the heart of the city. Lose yourself in a labyrinth of palaces, street art, and the medieval Serranos and Quart Towers. Visit the Holy Chalice in the Cathedral, the Silk Exchange (La Lonja de la Seda), and the Central Market. After your walk, unwind on a terrace with some tapas or a delicious paella.
Stroll through the Turia Gardens
Explore nine kilometers of nature, leisure, and culture winding through the city along the former riverbed. Admire historic bridges, the futuristic architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences, or spots like Bioparc and the Museum of Fine Arts. Rent a bicycle, pedal at your own pace, and stop whenever you like.
Relax in the Maritime Villages
Looking for relaxation? Start your visit at La Marina, walk along the Promenade, and settle onto one of the urban beaches of El Cabanyal or La Malvarrosa. For a more active plan, wander through the streets of El Cabanyal to admire its iconic tiled facades and enjoy tapas in its most authentic bars.
L'Albufera, a Natural Paradise
Just 10 km from the city, L'Albufera Natural Park is a sanctuary surrounded by rice fields, wild beaches, and forests. Discover its rich birdlife at the Racó de l’Olla visitor center and enjoy a 40-minute boat ride on an albuferenc, the traditional local boat. To top off the experience, head to El Palmar and taste authentic paella right where it was born.
