Get ready to treat your senses, because the “Horchata Culture Experience” is set to change your perception of tiger nuts and horchata forever with two unique experiences.
These two experiences provided by Món Orxata will give you a glimpse into their artisan production process and their organic fields in the Alboraya orchard, a thousand-year-old landscape that preserves Valencia’s agricultural heritage.
Here you will discover the fascinating history of the tiger nut, an ancient seed considered a true superfood for its high nutritional value, healthy fats and richness in vitamins and minerals.
Choose your horchata experience
Classic: the essence of tradition – 60’ – €25
You’ll start by getting a feel for the place on a guided tour of the organic tiger nut fields, where you’ll discover the secrets of this ancient crop, the history of the Valencian orchards and their surprising link to the Water Tribunal.
Next, you’ll pop into the artisan workshop to see where the magic of the legendary horchata carts that criss-cross Valencia begins, before getting stuck in with a tasting of sweet, traditional horchata served with its essential accompaniment: the fartón.
And to top it all off, you’ll become a true master in the horchata workshop, where you’ll learn an old recipe based on almonds, tiger nuts and dates so you can replicate it at home.
Anything else? It’s time to close the tour at its charming photocall.

On top of everything included in the previous tour (a visit to the fields, the artisan workshop and the production facility), you’ll explore the “Espai Món Orxata”. This cultural centre houses a collection of antiques, portraits and other artefacts that will take you on a journey back 80 million years, transforming your perception of horchata.
And then it’s time for the tasting, which in this case includes unsweetened natural horchata, the traditional version, pastries and a delicious horchata cream liqueur (for adults only).
