Total solar eclipse in Valencia
Experience in Valencia the most impressive eclipse of the 21st century in Europe.
Can you imagine it going dark in Valencia for more than a minute in the middle of the afternoon?
On 12 August 2026, you will be able to experience it in the front row, because the first total solar eclipse visible in Spain in more than a century is coming... and our city is the best place to see it!
At 8.30 p.m., when the sun begins to set over the Mediterranean, the moon will cover it completely and the city will be in twilight for almost two minutes.
It will be the most spectacular eclipse of the 21st century in Europe and Valencia will be one of the best places to see it.
We are not just talking about a partial eclipse. No way! You will be able to see the sun’s entire corona glowing around the Moon.
And be aware: this won’t happen again in Valencia until 2053.
The city is already preparing to welcome astronomers, enthusiasts and tourists with astronomy routes, talks, guided viewings and all kinds of experiences to celebrate this historic moment. Don't miss out!
