The seaside refuge of the great Valencian writer

The Valencian writer Vicente Blasco Ibáñez (1867-1928) captured the life of his homeland like no one else in works such as The Cabin (La Barraca) or Reeds and Mud (Cañas y Barro). The Blasco Ibáñez House-Museum occupies the villa that the author commissioned in 1902 on Malvarrosa beach. This is where he sought refuge to write, in a peaceful setting by the Mediterranean.

Today, it is an intimate museum dedicated to the author, his life, and his work, housing numerous documents and personal belongings. The reconstruction of the rooms where he lived and worked, combined with the Mediterranean atmosphere, helps visitors step into his world and feel equally inspired.

  • To feel inspired, like Blasco Ibáñez, by the proximity of the sea
