Categories: exhibitions.

Works by Velázquez, Ribera, Murillo, Martínez Montañés, or Mena are part of the exhibition, which can be visited until June 9th.

Get ready for a journey into the heart of the Baroque with "Fiercely Human: Portraits of Holiness"! The Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia (MuBAV) presents this exhibition, which you can visit until June 9th.

It analyzes the representation of holiness in the Spanish Baroque era through 36 masterpieces by the main Spanish painters and sculptors of the 17th century, such as Velázquez, Ribera, Murillo, Martínez Montañés, or Mena.

The exhibition will take you into a world of intense emotions and vivid representations of holiness. From the fervor of the Counter-Reformation to the poignant realism of the works, you will discover how the saints come to life before your eyes.

With more than 36 works, including some Italian gems, this exhibition will immerse you in the very essence of Baroque devotion. It is the result of collaboration between the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia and the Carmen Thyssen Museum in Malaga, and it is enriched by pieces borrowed from: the National Prado Museum, the Fine Arts Museum of Seville, the Fine Arts Museum of Murcia, the Fine Arts Museum of Bilbao, the IVAM-Valencian Institute of Modern Art, the National Sculpture Museum of Valladolid, the University of Seville, the Diocese of Malaga, and the BBVA Collection, in addition to the fourteen works from the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia's own collection.

Don't miss the opportunity to feel the emotional power of these masterpieces in "Fiercely Human"!
