Free public transport with the Valencia Tourist Card
With this card, you can travel for free on urban (EMT) and metropolitan buses (Metrobus), metro (zones AB, including the airport station), tram and commuter trains (Renfe) within zone AB. The city has 60 bus lines, 10 metro and tram lines, and 6 commuter train lines, allowing you to get wherever you want from the moment you arrive—whether travelling from the airport to your hotel, to the beach, to l'Albufera de Valencia or to any other point of interest.
TIMETABLES AND FREQUENCIES
URBAN BUSES EMT VALENCIA
The daytime bus service operates approximately between 4:30 am and 10:30 pm, with an average frequency of around 12 minutes, although this may vary depending on the line and time of day. From 10:30 pm onwards, the night service begins, keeping the city connected until late: around 2:00 am on weekdays and up to 3:15 am at weekends. Many stops feature digital panels showing real-time waiting times for the next bus.
METRO AND TRAM
The metro service operates on weekdays from 4:00 am to 11:30 pm and at weekends from 5:00 am to 12:30 am, with average frequencies of every 10 minutes, although these may vary depending on the line and time of day.
METROBUS
These are the distinctive yellow buses that allow travel from Valencia to the main residential areas and shopping centres on the outskirts, as well as to most towns of interest in the metropolitan area: El Puig, El Saler, Pinedo, Puçol and Sagunto, among others.
RENFE COMMUTER TRAINS
There are 6 lines connecting the city of Valencia with Gandía (C1), Moixent –towards Albacete/Alicante– (C2), Utiel –towards Cuenca– (C3), Xirivella-L’Alter (C4), Caudiel –towards Teruel– (C5) and Castellón (C6). The card allows travel to towns included in zone AB. All timetables can be checked on the RENFE website.
How to get from the airport to the city centre by public transport
By metro, lines 3 and 5 connect the airport with the centre of Valencia in around 20 minutes, with frequencies of 15–20 minutes.
By bus, the Metrobus line 150 connects the airport with the city centre in around 45 minutes, with a frequency of 20–30 minutes.
Bus 95: the best line for sightseeing
If you’re looking for a line that is especially useful for not missing any tourist attractions, Line 95 runs through Valencia following the old Turia riverbed and offers direct access to places such as Bioparc, Parque de Cabecera, the Turia Garden, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Serranos Towers, the Palau de la Música, the Fallas Museum, the City of Arts and Sciences, the Oceanogràfic and Valencia Marina.
