The tourist offering linked to the relic will continue with the official thematic guided tour by the Visit Valencia Foundation and the Visitor Reception Centre
Valencia, October 13, 2026. Valencia will bid farewell to the 3rd Holy Grail Jubilee Year with a cultural and religious program that will bring music and performing arts to various spaces across the city, concluding with a mass at the Cathedral.
The programming will begin on Wednesday, October 21, at 8:00 PM, with a concert offered by the Valencia Orchestra at the Cathedral in collaboration with the Palau de la Música.
Under the direction of Alexander Liebreich and featuring Pablo Márquez on organ, the ensemble will perform the prelude to Richard Wagner's Parsifal; Katakomben (Spur des Grals für grosses Orchester), by David Moliner; and Camille Saint-Saëns' Symphony No. 3 in C minor, "Organ". The references to the Grail present in the works by Wagner and Moliner connect the musical program to the historical and cultural dimension of the Holy Grail.
Admission will be free, and tickets can be obtained through the Palau de la Música de Valencia website on October 20, starting at 10:00 AM, with a maximum of two tickets per user and until capacity is reached.
Performing arts will join the closing celebrations on Saturday, October 24, with the premiere of "Las aventuras del Santo Grial" (The Adventures of the Holy Grail). El musical del Santo Cáliz at the Olympia Theatre. Produced by the Valencian company Talitha Cumi, the show reconstructs the historical journey of the relic until its arrival in Valencia through live singing, acting, and choreography spanning urban dance, breakdance, classical ballet, jazz, and musical theatre. Conceived especially for youth and families, the show combines the spiritual dimension of the Holy Grail with historical, cultural, and archaeological elements.
On Sunday, October 25, at 12:30 PM, Hakuna will offer a free concert in Plaza de la Reina. The Catholic group has become a recent phenomenon in Spanish Christian music, especially among young audiences, with songs like "Huracán" and "Petrus" and a career marked by massive concerts and sold-out venues nationwide. Their performance will bring a contemporary musical offering with a message of hope to the Cathedral area as part of the Jubilee Year closing program.
The group will visit Valencia again on February 13 for a concert at the Roig Arena as part of the tour presenting their new album.
The program will conclude on Thursday, October 29, at 7:00 PM, with the closing mass of the Eucharistic Holy Year of the Holy Grail of Hope at Valencia Cathedral.
The relationship between the Grail and the performing arts will continue in December with Richard Wagner's Lohengrin, which will be performed at the Palau de Les Arts on December 10, 13, 16, 19, and 22. The opera, starring the son of Parsifal, delves into the legendary universe of the Grail and will arrive at the Main Hall in a new production musically directed by Sir Mark Elder and stage-directed by Damiano Michieletto.
The tourist experience will continue after the Jubilee
The closing will not mark an end to the opportunity to discover the history and heritage associated with the relic. The Visit Valencia Foundation will maintain its official thematic guided tour, "Valencia, City of the Holy Grail," which visits the main locations tied to its presence in the city.
The two-hour itinerary begins at the Almudín—headquarters of the Visitor Reception Centre—passes through various landmarks in the historic centre, and concludes at the Cathedral and the Chapel of the Holy Grail. It is offered on Fridays at 10:00 AM, in Spanish and English, and includes entry to the Cathedral and the Cathedral Museum.
Additionally, the Holy Grail Visitor Reception Centre, located inside the Almudín, will remain open to explore the history, art, and traditions surrounding the relic through display panels, audiovisual resources, historical documents, and audio guides.
Admission is free, and opening hours will remain Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The continuity of these resources will reach a new milestone in 2028, with the planned opening of a Holy Grail interpretation centre at the Casa del Relojero, next to the Cathedral. This future space will sustain the dissemination of the relic's history and cultural value beyond Jubilee celebrations and reinforce the concentration of related tourism resources around Plaza de la Reina.
Nearly one million cultural visits
The 3rd Jubilee Year has strengthened interest in sites linked to the Holy Grail. Throughout these twelve months, total cultural visits to Valencia Cathedral and climbs up the Micalet tower, including the Chapel of the Holy Grail, approached one million visitors.
This interest has also extended to the digital realm. During the Jubilee Year, visits to the relic section on the Visit Valencia website dedicated to the celebration, the relic, its history, or the Chapel of the Holy Grail tripled. Particular interest was shown by the domestic Spanish market, as well as Italian and US audiences. The surge in searches reflects a demand for information that goes beyond in-person visits and reinforces the Holy Grail as key cultural and tourism content associated with Valencia.
Meanwhile, the Visitor Reception Centre at the Almudín has welcomed over 50,000 people since opening, approximately 30% of whom were international visitors.
Following the conclusion of this third edition, Valencia will celebrate the Holy Grail Jubilee Year once again in 2030, in line with the five-year periodicity granted to the city in 2015 by Pope Francis.
