The graphic design of the "Bakalao Route" comes to IVAM

The Bakalao Route originated in the Valencian underground in the early eighties and became a unique movement that marked a before and after on the music scene in the Valencian Community.

"Graphic Route. The design of sound in Valencia" is a peculiar exhibition that brings together the posters and graphic design characteristic of this legendary phenomenon, which sprung up in a number of emblematic Valencian clubs in the 80s and 90s.

The Bakalao Route was not only an unusual musical movement. It also became the cradle of a very specific aesthetic and design imaginary inspired by the musical modernity and new digital techniques of the time.

One hundred and thirty-two posters, eighty-six flyers and two documentary films featuring interviews with designers, artists and cultural managers who took part in the Route make up this exhibition. 

"Graphic Route. The design of sound in Valencia" is an essential event for those who want to get to know the graphic creativity that accompanied the Bakalao Route and appreciate its artistic and cultural value.
