The Palace of the Marqués de Campo: Guardian of treasures and emotions
The Valencia City Museum occupies an elegant 19th-century stately home right in the heart of the historic center: the Palace of the Marqués de Campo. Inside, it hosts various thematic exhibitions linked in one way or another to the historical and cultural development of the city.
All of them showcase items from the extensive municipal collection, which ranges from archaeological remains to religious objects and numismatic collections. It also offers temporary exhibitions dedicated to Valencian artists, and will temporarily house the collection destined for the new Sorolla Museum.

What to see at the Valencia City Museum
The Palace
You can admire the original Baroque facade and various rooms where you will find everything from Mudejar-style doors to delicate stucco work with floral motifs. Don't miss the collection of classical sculptures in the courtyard either.

An eclectic collection that brings you closer to the city's history through archaeological remains, documents, coins, prints, furniture, and ceramics.

Temporary home of the Sorolla collection
The City Museum will temporarily host the extraordinary collection of works by Joaquín Sorolla, which will form the core of the future museum dedicated to the artist. This is an excellent opportunity to admire them before their relocation to the new Sorolla Museum in the Palacio de las Comunicaciones.
