Opera, concerts and performances in a spectacular setting

The Palau de les Arts in Valencia is a cultural space that impresses both inside and out. The magnificent futuristic-style building occupies one end of the City of Arts and Sciences. Inside, several auditoriums and halls with impeccable acoustics host a varied and comprehensive programme of different performing arts.

In its main hall, equipped with the latest technology and a 1,500 m² stage, visitors can enjoy the finest opera productions. But the Palau de les Arts is much more than opera. It also hosts both symphonic concerts and performances by contemporary artists and traditional music bands, as well as dance, zarzuela, and flamenco shows.

What to do at the Palau de les Arts

✓ Take lots of photos

The building can look like a spaceship or a futuristic helmet depending on the angle from which it is viewed. The reflection of the sun on the trencadís of its roof gives it different shades depending on the time of day. No two photos are the same, so take as many as you like and choose your favourite.

✓ A night at the opera

The opera season at the Palau de les Arts usually runs from October to June. Check the programme and book as early as possible so you don’t miss the chance to enjoy the great stars of bel canto.

✓ Something for everyone

The programme offers shows for all tastes, from opera, symphonic concerts and dance to flamenco, traditional Valencian or Afro-Cuban music. There are also open days, talks, meetings with artists, and workshops for children.

✓ Audio-guided tours

The Palau de les Arts can be visited inside using audio guides in several languages, allowing visitors to discover its secrets through interesting routes. It is necessary to purchase a ticket, but the experience is well worth it to enjoy its impressive architecture. The visit lasts approximately one hour.
