Getting around Valencia by metro and tram is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to explore the city. The Metrovalencia network has 10 lines connecting the airport, the historic centre, the beaches, the City of Arts and Sciences and many other essential places. It is an easy-to-use system with good frequency and perfect for first-time visitors to Valencia.
The metro operates with three fare zones: A, B and B+, and the ticket price depends on the zones of your origin and destination.

Tickets and which one suits you
Valencia Tourist Card (recommended)
The most comfortable and economical option for moving around Valencia. It offers unlimited travel for 24, 48 or 72 hours on the metro (zones A and B, including the airport stop), tram, EMT buses, Metrobus services and Renfe suburban trains.
It activates with the first use, so you won’t need to buy individual tickets. It also includes free entry to municipal museums and monuments, discounts at major tourist attractions, shops and restaurants, and a free tapa and drink in participating venues.
Single ticket by zones
Single metro tickets are purchased exclusively from station ticket machines, where you can pay by credit or debit card. The price depends on the zone (A, B or B+). In addition to the ticket, you must purchase a physical card, which you can reload for future journeys: cardboard card: €1.10 or plastic card: €2.20.

The metro and tram allow you to move quickly and make transfers that are clearly signposted. The most convenient stations for changing lines are Àngel Guimerà, Xàtiva, Colón and Alameda, as well as Empalme and Benimaclet for connections with the tram.
