Enjoy world-class women’s tennis at the BBVA Open Internacional, the only WTA tournament in the Valencian Community.
Valencia once again becomes the home of women’s tennis as the BBVA International Open in Valencia returns from 13 to 20 September 2026 at the Sporting Club de Tenis.
Directed by former professional tennis player Anabel Medina, this tournament is the only WTA event ever held in the Valencian Community and one of the few staged in Spain.
The competition features a 64-player singles draw representing 25 countries, alongside a doubles tournament with 16 pairs. The event will bring some of the world’s best players, including members of the WTA Top 100, to its courts.
Do names such as Nuria Párrizas, Qinwen Zheng, Laura Pigossi and Sara Errani ring a bell? They have all competed here in previous editions, and this year’s tournament promises to maintain the same high standard.
Sustainability and inclusion at the heart of the BBVA Open Internacional
The tournament not only brings together tennis stars, but goes much further.
The facilities reward sustainable mobility by giving fruit to those who arrive by bike or scooter, while promoting social inclusion through blood donation, Sound Tennis demonstrations for blind people and school meet-and-greets with the players. In addition, the event aims to lead the promotion of women's tennis through a round table featuring leading women from the worlds of sport and business.
What’s the schedule?
The tournament gets under way on Sunday 13 September with the singles competition. The doubles event begins on Wednesday 16 September, leading up to the finals on 20 September.
