The Bancaja Foundation brings together 60 new masterpieces by the Valencian painter for the first time in Valencia.

From October 3, 2025, to April 6, 2026, Fundación Bancaja becomes the temporary home of Sorolla, hosting a unique exhibition featuring 60 of his masterpieces

How come? The closure of the Sorolla Museum in Madrid for renovation work has meant that a collection that rarely travels in its entirety has been brought to Valencia.

In the exhibition “Sorolla. Masterpieces from the Sorolla Museum” you can admire famous pieces such as “Walk on the Beach”, “The Horse’s Bath” and “La Siesta”, alongside gems that have never been exhibited before.

These will be in dialogue with the iconic canvas “Sad Inheritance!”, owned by the Foundation itself, with which Sorolla won the Grand Prix at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900.

The exhibition will make a complete journey through the artist’s beginnings in Valencia and Italy, his recognition in Madrid, his mastery of portraiture, his passion for the sea and gardens and his last trip to paint the Mediterranean in Mallorca.
