La Llotgeta, a cultural center specializing in photography next to the Central Market
This jewel of neo-Medievalism with decorative touches of Valencian modernism is located in one of the epicenters of this attractive local architectural style: just opposite the Central Market of Valencia. Its relationship with this haven of farm-to-table products is not limited to their shared style. Originally, La Llotgeta was the Municipal Market Administration Office. Construction on the building began in the 1900s, and it opened in 1928.
It is one of the cultural spaces belonging to the Mediterranean Foundation, a non-profit organization and promoter of culture that is heir to the social works of the old savings banks. La Llotgeta has specialized as a photographic center, but it also holds courses, seminars, conferences and other exhibits.
