Tournament: “The Birthplace of Chess” in Valencia

The Chess Federation of the Valencian Community invites you to the 6th International Tournament “Valencia, Cradle of Chess”, taking place from July 5 to 13, 2025, at the Universitat Politècnica de València.

This prestigious event brings together players from all over the world in a high-level competition, offering cash prizes and numerous trophies.

The tournament will follow the Swiss system, which pairs each competitor with an opponent of equal — or as similar as possible — score in every round. There will be 9 rounds in total, with a time control of 90 minutes per player and a 30-second increment per move.

The event will also feature an outstanding line-up of national and international titled players, along with exhibitions, interactive challenges, and simultaneous games. Particularly noteworthy is the presence of the famous and mysterious "Rey Enigma", who will face players of all levels. The event will also bring back the exciting “Blindfold Challenge”, a spectacular three-day tournament where sighted and blind players compete under the same playing conditions.
