TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center
Firework displays, religious offerings, processions and depictions of miracles.
If you are in Valencia from April 11 to 13, 2026, you cannot miss the events of the Festivity of Saint Vincent Ferrer.
He is the patron saint of the city and, to give you an idea of his importance, he is considered the greatest worker of miracles in the entire Church.
To pay tribute to these supernatural feats, the city is filled with theatrical performances staged by children —always in verse and in the Valencian language— on different altars set up across various neighborhoods.
These plays are known as «Els Milacres» and have been part of Valencian tradition since 1561.
There are all of these:
-
Altar of El Carmen - Plaza del Carmen
-
Altar of El Mar - Plaza San Vicente Ferrer
-
Altar of El Mercat - Plaza del Mercado
-
Altar of El Mocadoret - Tapinería Street
-
Altar of the Guardian Angel - Church of the Guardian Angel
-
Altar of the Street of the Children of Saint Vincent - San Vicente Street corner with En Sanz
-
Altar of the Baptismal Font - Plaza de la Virgen
-
Altar of El Pilar - Plaza del Pilar
-
Altar of La Playa - Parish of Saint Vincent Ferrer
-
Altar of Ruzafa - Church of San Valero
-
Altar of El Tossal - Plaza del Tossal
In addition to these performances, the schedule of events continues until the commemorative day itself.
This final day is the highlight, dedicated to the solemn ringing of bells and the moving procession with the saint exiting through the Iron Gate of the Valencia Cathedral.
