Experience a 9th of October full of events celebrating King Jaume I’s entry into València
The 9 d’Octubre is the great day of the Valencian people: the day the city remembers King Jaume I’s triumphal entry and celebrates the birth of the Valencian people.
For several days, the city fills with gunpowder, markets, live music and parades that flood the streets with colour.

Friday 2 October
At 7:30 pm – Moors and Christians “Entraeta Festera”
It sets off from Plaza de la Virgen and runs along Caballeros, Bolsería, del Trenc, Barretería, del Mar, Avellanas and Palau streets, before returning to Plaza de la Virgen.
Saturday 3 October
From 10:30 am to 2:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm – Opening of the Jaume I camp and free visit to the civilian and military life areas
From 12:00 pm to 12:00 am – Opening of the Medieval Market
At 5:00 pm – Children’s Moors and Christians Parade
Route from Plaza del Tossal to Plaza dels Furs, next to the Serranos Towers.
At 8:00 pm – Embassies of the Conquest – Plaza dels Furs
At 9:00 pm – “La Tronada del Tirant” fireworks show by Falla Na Jordana and Pirotecnia Vulcano – Plaza del Portal Nou

Thursday 8 October
From 10:00 am to 9:00 pm – “La Nostra Senyera” exhibition – Salón de Cristal, City Hall
For the first time, the Reial Senyera and the sword of Jaume I are displayed together, marking the 750th anniversary of the king’s death.
At 7:00 pm – Concert by the Orquesta de València and pianist Carlos Apellániz – Palau de la Música – Free until full capacity
The programme includes works by Manuel Palau, Eduardo Montesinos, Manuel de Falla and Maurice Ravel.
At 7:00, 7:30 and 8:00 pm – “Cant a la Senyera” by the Coral Polifónica Valentina – Salón de Cristal, City Hall
At 7:30 pm – “Showcase of Valencian Dances, Music and Songs” – Plaza del Ayuntamiento
The performance features the Grup de Dansa de l’Alcúdia, the Grup de Danses d’El Piló and the Grup de Danses Arcud from La Vall d’Uixó, accompanied by the Colla Va de Bó from Quart de Poblet.
At 9:00 pm – Dansà popular (traditional folk dance) – Plaza del Ayuntamiento – Prior registration through the FFCV
At 11:30 pm – Fireworks display – Monteolivete Bridge
Friday 9 October
At 12:00 pm – Civic procession and floral offering to Jaume I – Plaza del Ayuntamiento
It sets off from Plaza del Ayuntamiento with the traditional lowering of the Senyera from the City Hall balcony.
The Reial Senyera and the sword of Jaume I will also be carried along the route to the Cathedral, where a Te Deum is held.
The procession then continues to Plaza de Alfonso el Magnánimo for the laying of floral wreaths at the statue of Jaume I, before returning to Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
At 2:00 pm – Mascletà – Plaza del Ayuntamiento
At 3:45 pm – Bajada de Gloria – Plaza del Ayuntamiento
It follows the reverse route of the Moors and Christians Parade, starting from Plaza del Ayuntamiento and passing along Calle de las Barcas, Poeta Querol and La Paz, up to the Glorieta.
At 5:00 pm – 21st Moors and Christians Parade – Jardines de la Glorieta
The parade runs from the Jardines de la Glorieta to Calle de Xàtiva, passing along Calle de la Paz, Poeta Querol, Las Barcas, Plaza del Ayuntamiento and Avenida Marqués de Sotelo.
