What’s the most eagerly awaited time of the year in València?
Fallas (València’s famous fire festival) and, along with it, the mascletà (midday firecracker display).
In case you didn’t know, the mascletàs take place every day from 1 to 19 March at 2:00 pm in València City Hall Square and are the favourite event for locals and visitors alike.
It’s an experience you’ll never forget: every day at 2:00 pm, thousands of people gather in the City Hall Square, as if it were a ritual, to witness an incredibly powerful pyrotechnic display lasting between 5 and 7 minutes.
And what minutes they are!
A show that blends sound, the smell of gunpowder, colour and the contagious excitement of the crowd, building in crescendo to an apotheotic finale.
In short, it’s something you simply can’t miss.
Of course, you can enjoy the fireworks right there in the square. But without a doubt, the best way to savour the mascletàs is from a balcony, with a privileged viewpoint and away from the crowds. And best of all, they’re within everyone’s reach.
Mascletàs from Atenea Sky
From 1 to 19 March, enjoy gunpowder, music and gastronomy with 360º views from the 8th floor of the Ateneo Mercantil.

Mascletà Passeig de Russafa 3 (Penthouse)
Access via the lift located next to the entrance of the Cines Lys.
Enjoy this open-air terrace to experience the mascletàs in a different way. You’ll have 450 m2 of terrace (limited capacity) at the viewpoint of the Cines Lys building, with the best views, live music, menu, DJ and Chill-Out area.
Timetables:
- Penthouse opens: 12:45 pm.
- Open bar service and menu: from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Mascletà with Grupo Portolito (VIP Balcony)
Location: Plaza del Ayuntamiento, 16 (2nd floor).
Enjoy the mascletà from an exclusive space with privileged views and an unobstructed perspective of the pyrotechnic show. Experience it in total comfort and safety, away from the crowds, in an ideal setting for groups, VIP guests or corporate events.
What does the experience include?
- Midday mascletà: Exclusive Finger Food menu (Iberian cured meats, cheeses, gildas, Russian salad, mini burgers and more) with drinks included.
- Dinner + Night-time mascletà: Tasting menu at Portolito Centro and access to the balcony for the midnight displays (days 6, 7, 13, 14, 15 and 19 March).
- Timetables: Access from 12:30 pm for midday and from 11:15 pm for the night-time ones.
Individual tickets on sale from 20 February.
Mascletà Balcony - Marqués de Sotelo 1
Location: Marqués de Sotelo, 1 (5th floor, door 10).
Located at the main entrance to the square, this balcony offers an excellent side-on view so you won’t miss a detail of the thunderous roar and the apotheotic finale, accompanied by an exquisite cocktail-style catering.
Access times:
- From 1 to 14 March: Access at 12:30 pm.
- From 15 to 19 March: Access at 12:00 pm.
Mascletà Balcony - Ayuntamiento 5 (Terrace)
Location: Plaza Ayuntamiento, 5 (Terrace).
Right in the heart of the square, this terrace puts you just metres from the “fire zone”, letting you experience it immersively and feel the vibration of every burst, paired with an exquisite cocktail-style catering.
Access times:
- From 1 to 14 March: Access at 12:30 pm.
- From 15 March onwards: Access at 12:00 pm.
Mascletà Balcony - Ayuntamiento 2
Location: Plaza Ayuntamiento 2, 4th floor, door 9.
One of the most iconic locations. Experience the Fallas tradition from a landmark building with front-row views of the area where the pyrotechnicians work their magic, accompanied by a cocktail service.
Access times:
- From 1 to 14 March: Access at 12:30 pm.
- From 15 March onwards: Access at 12:00 pm.
Mascletà at Hard Rock Cafe Valencia
Looking for a mix of adrenaline, rock and tradition? At Hard Rock Cafe Valencia you can experience the mascletà from an enviable spot. Its balconies offer a direct view of the epicentre of the festivities, so you can feel the roar of the gunpowder while enjoying the authentic vibe and its international food offering.
Given its popularity and strategic location just a few metres from City Hall Square, places often sell out well in advance.

Mascletà from El Centenari
Enjoy the best views of the city and the gunpowder spectacle from above. From 1 to 19 March, experience an exclusive event at The Rooftop with a privileged aerial view over the square.
What does the midday experience include?
- Time: From 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
- Gastronomy: Cocktail-style menu with 7 savoury courses and 1 sweet course.
- Prices: €100 (Monday to Thursday) and €140 (weekends and from 16 to 19 March).
In the evening, the terrace opens from 6:00 pm for à la carte dinners (reservation with minimum spend required). Note: Access permitted only for guests aged 14 and over; pets are not allowed.
