The Crema, the day when the Fallas are burned to mark the beginning of spring

“La Nit de la Crema” (The Night of the Burning) takes place on March 19, Saint Joseph’s Day and Father’s Day. On this final day of the festival, the Fallas are farewelled by reducing all the fallas monuments to ashes, a task carried out by the falleras mayores of each commission, who light the fuse to start the Cremà.

At 8:00 p.m., the children’s fallas are burned, and at 10:00 p.m., the large ones, except for the first prize of the Special Section and the one in the City Hall Square, which will be set alight at 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. respectively.

Watching a colorful sculpture several meters high go up in flames is an experience in itself; just like with the mascletà, you can enjoy the Cremà of the City Hall Square falla from a balcony with a privileged view, or from street level.

The evening is never without a soundtrack: the regional anthem by Maestro Serrano, sung by the crowd, more than a song for the falleros, marks the moment when the Fallas of the current year end and those of the following year begin.

Cremà Schedule – Fallas, March 19:

8:00 p.m. – Cremà of the children’s fallas.

8:30 p.m. – Cremà of the children’s falla that won the first prize in the Special Section.

9:00 p.m. – Cremà of the children’s falla in the City Hall Square.

10:00 p.m. – Cremà of all the fallas in Valencia.

10:30 p.m. – Cremà of the falla that won the first prize in the Special Section.

11:00 p.m. – Cremà of the falla in the City Hall Square.
