A museum in a water reservoir? Yes, indeed. The unique headquarters of the Valencia History Museum is located where the city's drinking water was first stored back in 1850.  

From Roman Valentia to the present day, the museum takes you on an enjoyable journey through history using objects, documents, and interactive audiovisual installations. In addition to reviewing historical milestones, it delves into the daily lives of Valencians, their customs, and concerns throughout time.

What to see at the Valencia History Museum

    The old underground reservoir that houses the museum is covered by eleven vaults supported by 250 brick pilasters.

    Dramatized scenes recreate everyday moments from different eras, offering a more personal perspective on the history of València. 

  • Permanent Exhibition 

    A beautiful Roman mosaic featuring the face of Medusa, the museum's symbol, marks the entrance to the permanent exhibition. Divided into eight sections dedicated to different eras, you will find a wide variety of fascinating objects and historical documents in its display cases.
