Learn how to enjoy Valencia’s Fallas festival responsibly with this practical visitor guide

The Fallas are a heritage for everyone, a unique and fun celebration to share and enjoy. Follow the guidelines detailed below and, by improving your experience, you will help improve everyone else’s as well.

The Fallas are lived in the streets; take care of them as if they were your home

Public space belongs to everyone. Respect the environment and urban furniture. Avoid damages by not using it improperly.

Respect the city, its streets, gardens and squares— the best celebration ends with clean streets

Use litter bins, separate waste in the appropriate containers, and reduce single-use plastics during the festivities.

Enjoy the festival intensely, but also respectfully

Gunpowder, music, and celebration are part of the Fallas. Enjoy while respecting rest hours, the well-being of residents, and of our pets.

Respect the Fallas monuments that give meaning to the celebration

Respect these works of art and allow everyone to enjoy them.

During the Fallas you are not just a visitor: you are part of the celebration

Your attitude matters. Respect coexistence rules, take care of the city and actively collaborate so the celebration is safe for everyone.

Share on social media, but always responsibly

The way you share your experience also protects the celebration, the people, and the values that make it special.

Gunpowder is a Valencian tradition; using it carefully is your responsibility

•   Use pyrotechnics only in designated areas and avoid gardened or sensitive spaces.
•   When using pyrotechnics, keep your distance from other people and buildings, and respect urban furniture.
•   Avoid unnecessary risks: do not manipulate firecrackers or combine their power.
•   There are also quiet moments during the Fallas: from 09:00 to 10:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00. Respect them.

During the Fallas, move without leaving a trace

Get around on foot, use public transport or bicycles, and always respect traffic rules.

In case of emergency, don’t hesitate: call for help

If you detect a risky situation or need assistance, notify security personnel or call 112.

Enjoy the Fallas with excitement, but from a safe area

Follow the instructions of authorized personnel and stay behind the fences and marked areas during pyrotechnic and crowded events.
