Mostra de València 2025: Ten Days with the Best Cinema from the Mediterranean

Categories: urban festival.

Come and discover a great selection of films, documentaries, and hybrid formats that give voice to Mediterranean cinema.

Do you like auteur cinema?

If so, from October 23 to November 2 you have a date with the “Mostra de València – Cinema del Mediterrani,” the city’s most important Mediterranean film festival.

For more than ten days, the Cines Babel, the Filmoteca, the Tossal Gallery, and the Palau de la Música will screen national and international films, medium-length films, shorts, and documentaries from countries as diverse as Italy, Egypt, Turkey, and Greece.

In this 40th edition, the spotlight will be on hybrid formats and female voices, with an Official Section that embraces new storytelling forms and visual approaches that go beyond classical narrative.

In addition, the festival will award its highest distinction —the Palmera de Honor— to two key figures in Spanish film production: Fernando Bovaira and Sol Carnicero, recognized for their careers and contributions to the growth of national cinema.

The festival will also feature premieres, retrospectives, tributes, and special screenings dedicated to iconic figures of Mediterranean cinema, as well as meetings with directors, discussions, and parallel activities that will delight film lovers.
