Come and discover a great selection of films, documentaries and hybrid formats that give a voice to Mediterranean cinema
Do you love auteur cinema?
If so, from 3 to 15 November 2026 you have a date with the “Mostra de València – Cinema del Mediterrani”, the city’s most important film festival.
For thirteen days, the screens at Cines Babel, the Filmoteca, the Palau de la Música and Cines ABC Park will show Spanish and international films, medium-length films, shorts and documentaries from countries all around the Mediterranean.
In this 41st edition, the Official Section brings together eleven films competing for the Palmera de Oro. They tackle themes such as mental health, the housing crisis, inequality and family conflict.
In addition, the festival will present its highest honour —the Palmera de Honor— to a key figure in Spanish cinema: Icíar Bollaín, a director, screenwriter and actress known for a career marked by a deep social commitment.
She will receive the award at the closing gala on 14 November.
The festival will also feature premieres, a retrospective of seven Icíar Bollaín films at La Filmoteca, special screenings and parallel activities that will delight film lovers.
