Enjoy Christmas in the City of Arts and Sciences

During the festive season, Valencia is brimming with Christmas spirit thanks to a special programme at the City of Arts and Sciences that you won't want to miss. 

Hemisfèric  

From now on, the Hemisfèric is screening the animated film "The Light Before Christmas", a charming stop-motion film directed by Nathan Smith and Christopher Robin Miller. 

Follow the adventures of Katie and Makean as they discover the true meaning of Christmas with the wise Candleman. 

After the showing, you can also discover the secrets behind this animation technique. It will be on until 6 January 2025! 

Oceanogràfic  

Meanwhile, Oceanogràfic presents the fifth edition of the “Christmas under the Sea” festival, from 26 December to 5 January. 

Focusing on climate change, this event features educational workshops for all ages, such as creating a puzzle game or decorating recycled bags. 

There will also be a host of activities such as themed face painting, an interactive mobile laboratory with lots of experiments and a new feature! 

This year there will be an artistic route to discover the murals of renowned Valencian artists such as Paco Roca and Julieta XLF. 

Everything is designed to inspire and make families like yours think about their relationship with the oceans. 

More activities at the City of Arts and Sciences 

Watch out, the magic doesn't end there. 

The Christmas Market returns to the Paseo de Arbotantes del Umbracle from 13 December to 6 January. There will be plenty of craft stalls, children's workshops and a lovely merry-go-round that will delight the little ones in the house. 

In addition, there will be no lack of solidarity with the "Solidarity Corner", a space where NGOs will share their projects and you will be able to collaborate with their causes. 

Also, if you have young artists at home who are in primary school, there's still time to take part in the "Christmas at the City of Arts and Sciences" drawing competition, until the 10 December. 

The nine winning entries will be included in the City of Arts and Sciences' official greetings card and their artists will win tickets to the Oceanogràfic, the Science Museum and the Hemisfèric.
