Come along to the 54th edition of the Trofeo Naranja at the Mestalla, where Valencia and Newcastle United FC will face each other
The big event of the summer for Valencia fans is finally here!
On Saturday 8 August at 9:00 p.m., Valencia will play a friendly match against Newcastle United FC at the Mestalla.
The match will decide who wins the ‘Trofeu Taronja’, a summer fixture that serves to introduce the team to the Valencian fans and get them up to speed ahead of the start of the league season.
Newcastle, a formidable opponent
The competition couldn't be more prestigious.
Newcastle United FC, one of the most historic clubs in European football, are visiting the Camp de Mestalla, having been four-time champions of the topflight in England and six-time FA Cup winners.
Their most recent and notable achievements include winning the 2025 Carabao Cup, followed by their historic qualification for the Champions League round of 16 in February 2026.
What about the statistics?
Valencia has already won the Trofeu Naranja 33 times. Will we be lifting another trophy this summer?
