Talia Theater

Caballeros 31, 46001 - València

TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center

The Talía Theatre in Valencia is a privately-owned historic theatre managed by the Valencia Regional Government.

It is located at 31 Calle Caballeros. Opened in 1928, it belongs to the San Vicente Ferrer Workers’ House, a Catholic charitable organisation formed in 1908 within the association movement at the start of the 20th century.

From the outset, the venue noticeably appealed to the working classes, as it mainly hosted local companies and performances in both Spanish and Valencian, aimed at an audience that had not received a great deal of education.

During the Civil War it was controlled by the Executive Committee of Public Spaces, but remained the property of the Workers’ House after the conflict.

After being managed by private companies, it has been managed by the Valencia Regional Government since 1992, under an agreement.

The venue has 243 permanent seats, 62 boxes on the first floor, and 48 circle boxes and 36 boxes on the second floor.
