Military History Museum

The Military History Museum is a new exhibition centre filled with weapons, various objects and testimonies related to the history of the Spanish military with the aim of demonstrating the military tradition to the general public. The Museum consists of two floors, various exhibition rooms and courtyards. The ground floor is dedicated to the weaponry that was used during the Civil War (1936 - 1939) and manufactured in Valencia, while the courtyards exhibit the bigger, heavier weapons. The Upper floor is divided between the Main Room and the Banners and Uniforms room; there are scale models of fortresses, a section on logistics, an area dedicated to famous or important military figures and a projection room dealing with important events that have occurred in the Valencian area. In keeping with the didactic character of the museum, there is a research library, and a conference room with regular cultural activities and meetings.
