Palm Sunday in Valencia

Categories: parties and traditions.

TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center

Celebrate the occasion at the Cathedral of Valencia, in San Juan del Hospital and during the Maritime Easter Week in the coastal neighbourhoods.

Palm Sunday, which falls on 29 March this year, marks the start of Easter in Valencia.

On this particularly important day for the Christian community, we commemorate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, when he was welcomed by the masses with palm and olive branches.

This is symbolically revived throughout the city in processions, blessings and liturgical celebrations, many of which are deeply rooted in the people.

Where?

Especially in the neighbourhoods of Cabañal and Grau, where the Maritime Easter Week offers a programme full of fervour and tradition, but also in the Church of San Juan del Hospital and the Cathedral of Valencia.

Here is the full schedule.
