Lake Albufera is regaining its traditional charm with the new lateen sailing events.
Lateen sails are once again cutting through the waters of Albufera with four days of exhibitions.
On 30 May, 27 June, 18 July and 1 August, you can head to the nature reserve to watch dozens of traditional boats being propelled solely by the wind.
The performances start at 12 noon (except on 27 June, when the show begins at 11:30 a.m.) and run until 3 p.m. Stay until the end!
This activity keeps alive one of the most deeply-rooted nautical traditions of our land, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest.
Don’t worry, the routes are designed to avoid the most sensitive areas of l’Albufera.
If you’ve never seen a lateen sail in action… it’s time to come to Valencia! If you’ve been there before, you’ll know that the show alone makes the visit worthwhile.
