Categories: music.
TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center
Ars Magna is performing a concert in the Church of Saint Catherine the Martyr, are you coming?
On 15 November 2024 at 8:30 pm, the Church of Saint Catherine the Martyr will be the setting for the concert "Farinelli o el gusto sublime", a musical performance by the Ars Magna collective as part of its range of classical concerts in charming settings.
The concert programme pays tribute to Carlo Maria Michelangelo Nicola Brosch, known as Farinelli, one of the most outstanding "castrati" in musical history.
The magnificent countertenor Rafael Quirant will perform a beautiful repertoire of arias and baroque pieces based on the figure of Farinelli, accompanied by Fernando Pascual on violin, Pere-Joan Carrascosa on cello and Francesc Gamón on harpsichord.
The choice of the Church of Saint Catherine the Martyr as the setting highlights the originality of Ars Magna's approach to this concert, and we can already tell you that, in addition to this, it comes with a very full programme.
