Corpus Christi 2026 programme of events in Valencia
Categories: parties and traditions.
TOURISTIC AREA: Historical center
Join in the festivities of this Valencian festival, which dates back over 750 years.
Valencia goes all out for the celebration of Corpus Christi, one of the city's most deeply rooted traditions, in which pagan and religious elements blend to offer worshippers, tourists and curious onlookers a top-notch cultural experience.
A special programme has been put together so that, if you’re interested, you can take part in the festivities.
Take part in the Procession of the Rocas, a spectacular display of monumental ancient floats traditional to Valencia’s Corpus Christi celebrations, which are pulled from the Museum of the Rocas to the Plaza de la Virgen by decorated horses, and dance to the rhythm of the Moma dance, which symbolises the struggle between virtue and the seven deadly sins.
Join in the Cabalgata del Convite parade, which re-enacts the invitation extended by the city council of Valencia to the authorities and the public to attend the Corpus Christi Procession; cool off at the legendary poalà, and enjoy the rest of the activities celebrating what is known as the city’s ‘festa grossa’ (big festival).
