Enjoy two nights of jazz, flamenco, and world music with Berklee’s most talented students.
Music returns to the CaixaForum Valencia auditorium with a new edition of the eagerly awaited Berklee Ensemble Nights on 1 and 2 December at 7:30 p.m.
These two evenings will be an opportunity to appreciate the talent of the students on the Master’s Degree in Contemporary Music, who will showcase the results of months of work in a musical journey that crosses borders, cultures and styles.
This is a very special event organised by Berklee Valencia, the European campus of one of the world’s most renowned music schools.
Here are all the details!
1 December – Jazz and Mediterranean music concert
The first night is dedicated to jazz and the sounds of the Mediterranean with two ensembles led by big names on the international scene.
Lithuanian singer Viktorija Pilatovic leads a group that will perform a repertoire including “Forget regret”, “Rebirth”, “Ana María” and “Circling”.
And the Valencian saxophonist Perico Sambeat, a benchmark of contemporary jazz, leads another ensemble that will perform songs such as “Mhrid”, “Crosswinds”, “Attack in 11”, “Nido del aire” and “Vrajanski Cocek”.
A performance with Mediterranean roots and the unmistakable stamp of Pilatovic and Sambeat.
2 December – Flamenco and South American rhythms concert
The second night comes loaded with an irresistible mix of flamenco beats and Latin melodies.
Uruguayan violinist Federico Nathan will take you on a journey through emblematic pieces of Latin American folklore such as “Canción de las simples cosas”, “Loro”, “Tan Lu”, “Candombe para Gardel” and “La flor de la Canela”.
And the closing act will be performed by Sergio Martínez on percussion and Yago Santos on guitar with “Tangos de Pepico”, “Adiós tristezas”, “Enamórame” and “Tangroove”.
A performance that unites flamenco, jazz, groove and a very fresh rhythmic experimentation.
Are you coming to both?
