Christmas has finally arrived in Valencia!
The switching on of the lights — as always — marks the beginning of these long-awaited festivities… and this year it comes packed with music, fireworks, and an amazing atmosphere.
The city will light up for the first time on 21 November at 7:30 p.m., and yes, a welcome celebration worthy of the occasion will take place in the Town Hall Square, coinciding with the feast of the patron saint of music — Saint Cecilia — under the motto “Music lights up Christmas”.
To begin with, you’ll enjoy a live performance by singer Melani García, the renowned Valencian voice who took part in “La Voz Kids”, Junior Eurovision, and “Your Face Sounds Familiar”.
She will be accompanied by pianist Eduard Marquina, a specialist in jazz and improvisation, and violinist Federico Nathan, a professor at Berklee Valencia.
In short, a top-notch trio.
Next, it will be the turn of the Juan Bautista Comes Choir, arriving with a few surprises up their sleeve — including the presence of young soloist Yaimar Peña.
And that’s it? Not at all!
After that, you can enjoy a pyromusical show by Pirotecnia Valenciana, a perfect blend of music and fireworks.
And right afterwards, the falleras mayores will switch on the big tree and all the city’s Christmas lights.
