Volumens celebrates a new edition dedicated to ecosystems, demonstrating the diversity and richness of artistic expressions, while promoting a dialogue on the importance of rethinking the boundaries and uses of digital technologies.

Concerts, audiovisual performances, and sessions

Following the announcement of Shapednoise & Sevi Iko Dømochevski, Louis Carnell, a showcase of YOUTH, Mecánica Clásica or d_o_ppelgaenge r, Volumens confirms that the Palau de la Música will host the organ concert of Kali Malone in collaboration with Stephen O'Malley. The American artist will present for the first time in our country compositions from her acclaimed albums All Life Long and The Sacrificial Code adapted for the organ.

On Friday, October 18, TEM will feature La Cellule d'Intervention METAMKINE, an open group that includes musicians and filmmakers exploring the relationship between image and sound. Through the magic of mirrors, multiple projectors, and clever live editing, Metamkine produces and directs a new film with each of its performances. Working around a central narrative, they spill out swirls of improvised vignettes, accompanied by a live soundtrack of tape fragments and old synthesizer sounds. These three collaborators, who have worked together for over 20 years, have managed to transcend the boundaries of cinema and soundtracks into live performance – Utterly unique. This concert is made possible thanks to the collaboration with the sound lab Sono.Lab, part of the Valencia Innovation Capital strategy of the City Council of Valencia.

The activity that will kick off this eighth edition will be the installations at the Palau de la Música on Wednesday, October 16:

• Ergosystems of Excess, showcasing works from the Master’s in Visual and Multimedia Arts (UPV).

• BiteByte, Multiscreen installation by Kano and Ferran Buj.

• ⁠Hyperreal Simulacra, Video installation by Nico Gay

• ⁠Ciberontofanías, VR audiovisual installation by Marco Ferreira and Ferran Buj. Curator: Angela Montesinos.

Bombas Gens Centre d'Art Digital adds to its program on Thursday, October 17, Forces, a new installation by the multidisciplinary studio Vitamin Studio. Transforming ideas into immersive and interactive experiences, innovatively blending art and technology.

On Friday, October 18, TEM will host the installations Wild Echoes by Elizabeth Mondragón & Bruno Tripo, and Surcos by Vicente Cerveira, Iorgos Konstantinidis & Gustavo Pavez.
