This iconic work by playwright Ricardo de la Vega, composed by Tomás Bretón, returns to the stage in Valencia from the 2nd to the 8th of November, and you won't want to miss it!
"La verbena de la Paloma" is a comic opera that takes you back to 19th century Madrid during the lively Virgen de la Paloma festivities, the setting for many entertaining stories of love and jealousy.
The plot is based on a true story and revolves around an apothecary who is caught up in a web of jealousy when his beloved decides to attend the festival to provoke him.
With a cast headed by Borja Quizá and Carmen Romeu as Julián and Susana, and under the musical direction of José Miguel Pérez Sierra, this show pays tribute to Spanish lyric opera and, incidentally, to Madrid's Teatro Apolo, the birthplace of this great work.

Make a note of the dates: there will be performances on the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 8th of November, and a special showing on the 31st of October at just €10 for people under 28 years of age.
